GULLS
Derwent Graphitint Pencils on cartridge paper 18 x 15 cm.
I started drawing this as an experiment to find out what I could do with Graphitint pencils. It was sketchy to begin with but as it developed I became ore satisfied with it.
A pity about the boarder, I put it in at the start when it was just an experiment.

THREE ZEBRAS
White pastel pencil on black paper.
27 x 21 cm
I like to try something different now and again and I had this idea of drawing something in white on a black background. Zebras seemed to be an ideal subject but it turned out to be a bit of a challenge. It is thought that the stripes have evolved to confuse predators when the zebras are moving in a heard. Having tried to draw them I have a very good idea of how that works.

TIGER EYES
Pastel.
25 x 10 cm
I chose the tigers face from a photo that caught my eye and cropped it down to just the eyes so that it would fit a frame I had in mind. I think it gives the picture a dramatic feel and also it is a little different, which adds to the appeal.

ICE COLD IN ALEX
Graphite Pencils on cartridge paper.
28 x 17 cm
A classic scene from the film of the same name. This is not so much art as colouring in. Even so, it was quite a challenge and I learned quit a bit about the range of tones I was able to produce.
